Caring for your bag

Suede pig leather, like all leathers, is delicate and requires particular care.

To remove dust from your leather, use a soft brush or a suede brush. You should always scrub gently in the same direction.

In order to avoid stains and protect the leather, use a suede spray and make it water resistant with a special aerosol. Be aware, it is possible that by waterproofing it, your leather will darken slightly. Do not use washing lotions on this type of leather.

If you have stains which won’t go away, we recommend you use an absorbent clay-based stain remover.

If you stain the fabric, you can gently scrub it using a sponge and soapy water. Ensure that you don’t dampen the leather.

To keep your Piñatex®-based product in top condition, we recommend to not bleach it as well as do not dry clean, iron, or trumble dry.

Hand wash with soft and dampened cloth is recommended to clean the Piñatex® piece.

If you stain the fabric part, you can gently scrub it using a sponge and soapy water.

Due to the genuine leather straps, you should not wash the bag in the washing machine.

If you stain the fabric, you can gently scrub it using a sponge and soapy water. Prolonged contact with water could eliminate the shweshwe’s starched (rigid) features.

If you wish to iron the fabric, remember to iron from the underside so as to avoid spoiling the colours with the heat.

For the handles, you can use a traditional detergent suitable for real calfskin leather.
