How to put on, use, and wash a mask?
- Before putting on the mask, wash your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
- Cover your mouth and nose with the mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and your mask.
- When wearing the mask, avoid touching it with your hands. If you do need to touch the mask, wash your hands first.
- Wash your hands before and after wearing the mask. Also wash the mask regularly, at 60°C.
Please ensure the mask has been appropriately washed and disinfected before use.
A ‘fabric/cloth’ face mask (non-medical mask) for the general public is only part of a broader solution to curb the spread of COVID-19 and it must always be used in combination with other recommended precautionary measures, such as handwashing, not touching one’s face, coughing or sneezing into a tissue or elbow and keeping a proper social distance of 1,5m from other people.
Children should be supervised at all times when using a cloth mask, and they are not recommended for infants who may struggle to breathe with a mask or even choke if they put parts in their mouths.
WHERE OUR DONATIONS GO?
WeAllShareRoots supports SKKA, a Public Benefit Organisation in Lavender Hill / SeaWinds. This amazing association is driven by the leader of our seamstresses, Heather Adonis. She dedicates all her time to create an environment that gives an opportunity to children and parents on the Cape Flats to be taught, nurtured, and trained in a stream of possibilities and expose them to a different way of thinking about themselves and their skills/abilities. During the lockdown, SKKA has fed many children and adults in great need. WeAllShareRoots has supported their feed schemes by donating 5% of all online sales and now provide them with the donated masks.
